Social Action at Rodeph SholomThe Social Action Outreach Committee of Rodeph Sholom is a very active and worthwhile group to join. You can participate in every activity or just one to help our neighbors in need. Here are some upcoming projects. If you have suggestions, please let us know.
- Barbara Srebnick is looking for women to knit simple, warm headbands for kids in the Bridgeport Schools. If you can’t knit now but have some knitting worsted yarn to donate for others to make warm winter hats and mittens, please let Barbara know. For information contact her at barbsreb1@earthlink.net.
- On September 23rd at 7:30 p.m. at Rodeph Sholom, the young women of our congregation, their mothers and grandmothers will be making small, warm, cuddly, fleece carseat blankets for babies at the Center for Women and Families on Clinton Avenue (victims of domestic violence and abuse). Cost for the blanket materials is $5.00. Refreshments will be served. If you are a girl 13-20 years old and would like to join us with a mom and/or a grandma, RSVP to Ellen Bedford, ellenbedford@hotmail.com so we have enough blanket material by September 15th.
